In My Mailbox #4

In My Mailbox is a bookish meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren and inspired by Alea @ Pop Culture Junkie.

I just got a couple of books this week which I really want to read (but watch out next week as my Amazon order will be on its way!)

All my descriptions are from Goodreads.

The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter
Lords of the Underworld #1

All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. To end the nightmare, she has come to Budapest seeking help from men rumored to have supernatural abilities, not knowing she'll be swept into the arms of Maddox, their most dangerous member -- a man trapped in a hell of his own.

Neither can resist the instant hunger than calms their torments . . . and ignites an irresistible passion. But every heated touch and burning kiss will edge them closer to destruction -- and a soul-shattering test of love...

Though they carry an eternal curse, the Lords of the Underworld are irresistibly seductive -- and unimaginably powerful . . . Don't miss this incredible new paranormal series from Gena Showalter!

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
The Wolves of Mercy Falls #2

In Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past…and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabel, who already lost her brother to the wolves…and is nonetheless drawn to Cole. At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love–the light and the dark, the warm and the cold–in a way you will never forget.

  1. The Lords of the Underworld, in my humble opinion, is one of the best paranormal romance series that I have had the pleasure of reading! I think it's because I'm such a sucker for the mythology behind the romance - I took Latin for two years in high school not because I wanted to learn the language, but because I wanted to learn about Greek/Roman mythology. =)

Shiver is also a good read. I hope you enjoy both!!
